About Me

I'm a small town Indiana girl with big dreams to help others and own my own business.

My passion for movement developed through running and sports over the years, but ultimately changed forever when I started working as a coach for worksite wellness and as a personal trainer at my university. Working with people, mostly everyday people, made me realize that health and wellness isn't always about running, performance, and athletics....for many people it's all about weaving movement and making better choices into their lifestyle. I have some clients with performance-based goals, but many are just trying to feel better, move better, or be able to keep up with their kids.

And that was awesome because I learned the most about training and coaching from them!

During the last year of my undergrad at Indiana University, I knew I wasn't done learning. I still had so many things I wanted to research more about and so many questions I had were left unanswered. I wanted to get further in my career and I wanted to be able to understand and help an even larger group of people. I decided to go for my graduate degree. My graduate studies opened my eyes even further to health behavior and diving deeper into why we might make the decisions and habits that we do, especially related to health and wellness. This has given me an even deeper understanding of how to work on health behaviors in coaching, but also how to better meet clients where they are, no matter where their starting line may be.

My fitness and wellness philosophy is simple: Movement should be fun!

Aside from all the behind the scenes programming I do for clients to make sure it is safe and effective, I also take into consideration their likes and interests. We may try many different methods of exercise and moving to see what they like and don't like because it's important to program design. If they don't enjoy what they are doing, they are much less likely to keep doing it!

My training style includes using a variety of different exercise methods and educating clients so that they can build self-efficacy over time.

Some of my specialty training areas are:

Body Recomposition

Muscle Gain / Strength and Hypertrophy

Balance and Coordination

Aging while Maintaining Strength and Function

5k & Half Marathon Training / Running Specific Exercises

Post Physical Therapy Exercise (especially knee and hip)
Building an Effective Exercise Program at Home

Programming for Special Populations

Adding Variety/Difficulty to your Current Routine

There aren't many clients I wouldn't be able to work with!
